I’m so excited for September…especially after reading my favorite astrologer’s, September forecast :). More than anything specific happening in my life, the astrologer highlighted that with Jupiter moving into a new house this month, a shift is going to happen that will create an overall increase in optimism and a happier, lighter energy on a global scale! All I can say to that is Hallelujah:)! I don’t know about you, but I would love to tune into something happier and more positive than the sadness, violence and political crudeness that has been taking over the world stage this summer.
Speaking of happiness, I just got back from the awesome meditation retreat I attended at Dhyanyoga Centers (here’s how I described it before I went)….and I was definitely baked to a golden perfection :). As usual, it was über inspiring and just so soul-filling; words can’t really do justice in describing the deep peace, happiness and contentment that comes from such a rejuvenating weekend.
So on my to-do list this month, feeding my soul; meaning not missing a single day of my meditation/ hatha yoga practice is high on my list! With my soul-bucket brimming of goodness, happiness, peace and a wonderful lightness from the retreat, I know in order to keep it filled, it’s my job to top it off daily :). Want to join me? Also on my to-do list is to celebrate those around me. From Sept 16-30, is what we call Shraddh in the Indian lunar calendar. It’s a time when we celebrate with our loved ones the lives of our ancestors and family that has passed away. During these two weeks, the Vedas (Indian spiritual texts) recommends cooking foods that family members that passed loved. In addition to feeding the poor, doing extra prayers/practices for them, and/or making charitable donations in their names to food banks, schools and to the less fortunate. Also, since it’s a time of remembrance rather than moving forward, it’s recommended to avoid beginning any new projects during this time. Since my Dad passed away over 11 years ago, I’ve found it to be a very powerful thing to observe. My one of my Dad’s favorite meals was brunch…so this Sunday Morning Hash, will be one of the things I’ll be cooking with my family.
Between meditating daily and cooking a lot of family favorites, I think my third to-do list item, love deeply will spring forth pretty organically :).
